PATRICK A. DeRESPINIS, MD, FACS, FAAP, FAAO

Dr. DeRespinis established Pediatric Eyecare of Monmouth, LLC in 1988. He was awarded a B.A.degree in Biology and Philosophy from NYU. After 2 years of study in Mexico he completed his medical training at New York University followed by an internship in Internal Medicine at New York Hospital, Flushing (formerly Booth Memorial Medical Center). His residency in Ophthalmology was completed at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. He then went on to complete his Fellowship training at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital in New York City where he is also on staff as an attending physician. Dr. DeRespinis is also an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at UMDNJ and Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Staten Island University Hospital.

CARYN S. PEARLSTEIN, MD, FAAP, FAAO

Dr. Pearlstein joined Dr. DeRespinis in 1992. She was awarded a B.S. degree in biochemistry from the State University of New York at Stonybrook (summa cum laude) where she also received her Medical degree from SUNY/Stonybrook School of Medicine. She then went on to do her internship in medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center followed by a Research Fellowship in Corneal Diseases at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Pearlstein then returned to LIJ Medical Center to complete a Residency in Ophthalmology where she also served as Chief Resident in her final year. She then completed a Neuro-Ophthalmology Fellowship at Montefiore Hospital in NYC and an extra year of Pediatric Ophthalmology training under the guidance of Dr. DeRespinis.

Dr. Pearlstein is also an Associate Clinical Professor at S.U.N.Y. Downstate School of Medicine.
